Quick answer

Citizens of the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, several Latin American countries and many others can visit Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Several other nationalities can apply online for an electronic visa (e-Visa) through the official portal acces-maroc.ma. Always confirm with your nearest Moroccan embassy or consulate before booking.

Who can enter Morocco visa-free?

Morocco grants visa-free entry to nationals of around 70 countries, including all EU member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and many Gulf and West African states. The standard visa-free stay is up to 90 days. Rules change, so check the list published by Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

How the Moroccan e-Visa works

Morocco launched its e-Visa system in 2022. By the end of 2024, more than 385,000 e-visas had been issued to travellers of more than 100 nationalities. Travellers from eligible countries — and some who hold valid visas or residence permits for the Schengen area, UK, US and other countries — can apply online.

  1. Check eligibility

Visit the official portal acces-maroc.ma and enter your nationality.

  2. Prepare documents

Passport scan, photo, travel dates, accommodation and return travel details.

  3. Apply and pay online

Apply well in advance — during the World Cup, demand will be high.

  4. Print or save your e-Visa

Present it with your passport on arrival.

Beware of unofficial websites that charge extra fees for e-visa applications. Use only the official government portal.

Passport and arrival

  • Your passport should be valid for the whole length of your stay; many airlines recommend at least six months' validity.
  • You may be asked for your accommodation address and return ticket.
  • Arrival forms have largely been digitised; follow instructions from your airline or at passport control.
  • Drones require special authorisation and may be confiscated at customs if undeclared.

Travelling between Morocco, Spain and Portugal

Spain and Portugal are in the Schengen area; Morocco is not. Moving between them means passing full border control each way, and some travellers will need a Schengen visa as well as Moroccan entry. If you plan to follow your team across all three host countries, check the rules for both.
